Food for Thought

Beginning March 23rd – May 15th we will be moving our pantry operations to prepackaged emergency food bags and appointments only. Students will be able to schedule appointments to stop by and pick-up a prepackaged emergency food bag.

Appointments will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am – 4 pm. We ask that all students schedule an appointment before picking up their food bags. This will allow us to maintain the safety and health of the students and staff. Students will also be limited to one appointment per week. This is to ensure that we will have enough supplies to serve all students in need.

Once your appointment is confirmed we are asking that you park in the 7th street parking lot and the 15-minute parking space designated for the pantry. When you arrive, please give us a call at 651-793-1571 and we will bring your items out to your vehicle.

Appointments can be scheduled here: https://calendly.com/foodforthoughtpantry/food-for-thought-food-pantry-emergency-food-pick-up

The potential for this process may be modified with future guidance from federal, state or local authorities or Metropolitan State University or the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.

Prepackaged emergency food bags will weigh 10 – 15 pounds, and include pasta/noodles, canned fruits, and vegetables, canned soup, peanut butter, dried fruit/nuts, tomato sauce, canned meat (chicken/beef).

Good in the ‘Hood is pleased to partner with Metropolitan State University in order to host the “FOOD for THOUGHT” campus food program.

What is Food for Thought?

Working together to alleviate student hunger, FOOD for THOUGHT is designed to serve the needs of hungry students enrolled at Metropolitan State University. This unique hybrid program offers registered students a generous selection of essential groceries, produce, and proteins. In addition, we provide “Grab N Go” between class snacks to alleviate hunger and to help students to maintain concentration during their classes and course work.

Our Objective

Our objective is to work with the students and for the students in order to provide nutritional subsidies that will help them move towards their respective career goal and educational objectives. In short, we are “FEEDING THE FUTURE”.
