Remarks: PRIDE serves women and girls who are victims of prostitution. They offer transitional housing for women getting off the streets in collaboration with Elim Transitional housing, and emergency housing is coordinated with local battered women’s shelters. Provides: support and advocacy for victims of general crimes, referrals to other services, assistance with reparations and exercising legal rights, will replace bus cards for seniors when stolen, assistance if locks need to be replaced, some emergency transportation to court; community education.

Provides: crisis counseling, intervention, long-term counseling and support groups. Legal and community advocacy programs are offered, as well as groups from children who witness domestic violence, for adolescent boys who are violent in dating relationships, and for adolescent boys and girls who witness violence.
Remarks: services are for men, women (adults and youth); there is a domestic abuse treatment program for men. All services are on sliding scale based on ability to pay.

Hours: Appointments are taken Monday through Friday from 8 am-2: 30 pm; staff is in the office until 4:30 pm. Walk-ins welcome, although appointments are preferred.
Remarks: For anyone who has experienced unwanted repeated words, gestures or behavior intended to affect the safety, security, or privacy of someone. No relationship needed exist between person. You must provide the name of the perpetrator.
Filing Fees: There is a filing fee of $132 for restraining orders. Some waivers are available.

Provides: assistance for victims of abuse with obtaining Orders for Protection and Restraining Orders.
Remarks: People living together, related by blood, married, divorced, or in a significant sexual or romantic relationship. There must be actual or threatened violence, threat of physical assault, or terroristic threats.
Fees: No filing fees charged for Orders for Protection.

Note: County Clerks who file these Orders can only provide some basic assistance. You may want to speak to an advocate who could help you throughout the entire process of obtaining an Order. Advocates have good knowledge of all parts of legal system that a victim of domestic abuse may encounter.
