Thanksgiving Outreach

Good in the ‘Hood, in partnership with Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, is working in cooperation with 8 Hennepin county organizations (Minneapolis and Bloomington) in order to distribute Thanksgiving food baskets for up to 1800 qualified families in need.

Please note, Registration is now closed.

For those who have already registered and for volunteers our distribution information is posted below. Registrants should bring to the distribution a photo ID and the completed form provided during the registration process.

Please note, for families sharing a home we will only provide 1 basket per address. Families with 7 or more members should call Meals On Wheels at 651-699-5404 for a home delivery.

There are a number of ways for volunteers to become involved with this compassionate outreach including the following:
1. Provide and serve snacks and drinks for our guests.
2. Provide and oversee children’s activities, crafts and games.
3. Assist with registration and distribution adminstration.
4. Deliver baskets for those who do not have transportation.
5. Serve as greeters and carry the groceries for the elderly and disabled.
6. Provide music and lay chaplaincy care for our guests.
7. Help with set up and clean up of a respective host site.
