Holiday Help
For most people the holidays are a time of family, good food, thanksgiving and celebration. We often look forward to these seasons with great anticipation and excitement. However; for those living in marginalized circumstances this is certainly not the case. Instead the holidays can be a time of sadness, despair and even dread. Knowing that many families around you are happy and filled while you are unable to adequately provide for even the basic needs of your own loved ones. Then the holidays come with all the pressure and ever-growing expectation to do even more for your children who cannot understand the inequity that poverty brings. Unfortunately, this is becoming an increasing reality in our urban communities and all too often it leads to depression, neglect and hopelessness. Our Holiday Help program aims to bring some much needed relief and good cheer to hurting people during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season.
